Menton - Boston

Boston is a beautiful city, rich in history, culture and of course, great food! I've dined at Menton once before, prior to starting this blog, and so I knew to expect exceptional service and world class cuisine. Menton is located in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood where you'll find historic brown brick buildings blend in with modern architecture, all at a stones throw away from the water front. Their sophisticated, contemporary decor of gold light fixtures, chairs & tables with warm marble tops define the Gold Bar where I enjoyed lunch. They usually do not offer the tasting menus during the day, but ask and you shall receive! The restaurant's name originates from the French seaside town of Menton which borders Italy fitting the Italian and French cuisine driven menu. Menton holds the Relais & Chateaux banner and is a Five-Star property as per Forbes Travel Guide. Executive Chef Barbara Lynch herself is a James Beard Award-winner and the only female in the U.S. to hold the distinguished title of Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux. I hope you enjoy my "From the Elements" tasting menu at Menton.

I'd like to thank the Menton team for going out of their way for me by preparing the tasting menu out of regular service hours, and I could tell they were genuinely pleased to do so. The majority of the dishes were served by the Maître d and I enjoyed chit chatting with him quite a bit about their exceptional beverage program, (Wine Director, Cat Silirie has also won a James Beard Award for Best Wine Program) sports, the restaurant industry and everything in between. It is highly likely that I'll return to Menton my next time in Boston and I can't wait. I mean, common, they even have their own cow, Babette, on a farm in Vermont who's milk is exclusive to Menton for production of their home made butter. How can you not love this place! I hope you enjoyed my Dined There, Sipped That at Menton in Boston. Thank you all again for following and reading my blog, and I hope you're enjoying the beginning of the holiday season. The only type of wine that Menton's cellars did not stock is Gik's Blue Wine. Find out all about it here...
