Daniel - New York City

There are few names in the culinary world that rival Daniel Boulud. The French Chef has built a restaurant empire without compromising quality that spans across the continent, in addition to international locations in London and Singapore. Even still, he calls Manhattan home for himself and his showcase restaurant, Daniel, located in NY's posh Upper East Side. Mr.Boulud has chosen to surround himself by some phenomenal chefs in the Big Apple and still is considered one of the elite amongst, and by, his peers. Raised on his family's farm just south of Lyon, he learned an appreciation for fresh ingredients at a young age. Chef cooks with a modern wrist to elevate the traditional and rustic influence he keeps at heart.

As you walk in through the brass lined revolving doors and pass the elegant lounge, the dining room is quite impressive with its lofty ceilings, contemporary decor and neo-classic architecture.  The restaurant's accolades go on and on including two Michelin stars, number 71 on The 2016 World's Best Restaurants list and several James Beard awards including "Best Chef, New York City." Daniel also holds the Relais & Chateaux banner, is a member of Les Grandes Tables du Monde and has notably been honored with the exceptional title of "Chevalier de la légion d'Honneur" by the French Government. The tasting menu remains classical with modern preparation methods. Presentation awed and all flavors delivered. Admire below, my Dined There at Daniel, New York City.

August 2021

Who would have thought, 5 years ago, that the next time I'd Dined There at Daniel, that the world would be taken by storm by the most in demand fashion accessory...the facial covering. New York City is known for setting trends, and where better to show off your new face mask than the most in demand, ultra exclusive location; New York's two to four person outdoor dining cabanas. Restaurant Daniel has spared no expense and considered every detail in building & installing these semi permanent cabin-like, decorative tarp structures, fully equipped with flooring, white table cloth, option of port hole-like window or sky light, privacy curtain and don't forget the candle. Manhattan can get quite humid in August, so lounge seating was the choice where sections were separated by sail-like structures, decorated by floor lights projecting onto the canvas, very chic. Dinner service, however, classic Daniel, amongst New York City's best.

Myself with Chef Daniel Boulud

Having been to his Montreal, Palm Beach, Miami & other New York locations I can attest that a Bouloud dining experience is inimitable. I got the chance to meet Chef Boulud himself, a gracious & humble man. At the end of your meal ask to visit the skybox; Daniel's version of the chef's table is a dining area hovering above the actual kitchen for direct views of where the magic happens. For more information on all that is Daniel Boulud visit www.DanielBoulud.com .

Have a look at another 2 Michelin starred restaurant, The Modern. Located inside the MoMA, the dishes will captivate you as much as the art!
